Eastbourne Borough warming up prior to taking on Bath City

Having spent the first three matches in the National League with Barnet it was time to change it around a bit. I dropped down one level to Step 2 and along the coast to Eastbourne Borough, curious about how their adaption to full time football was moving along and also to catch up with Borough boss Mark Beard.

As a bonus his son Sam moved on loan for a month from Barnet on the Friday afternoon, the defender having not yet been involved in Dean Brennan’s plans and a chance to get some much needed match fitness.

A takeover in the summer by local businessman Simon Leslie meant full time football and a few changes cosmetically to the ground all in aid of pushing the clubs onwards and upwards which I will come to later in the piece. The only thing to note was the admission prices, quite a hefty discount when buying 24 hours plus in advance, I’ll mention more of that later.
