Once upon a time ticket prices and gate receipts were the biggest earner for a football club. That is still the case for non-league football but that point is long gone for top level football.
You might not have seen over the last couple of months clubs at that level increasing prices, not all of them by drastic amounts, dispensing with over 65 season tickets and murmurs of wanting to reduce season ticket levels as well, but why?
Well, it’s simple, they want more money of course and they don’t really care how they get it either.
