It’s extremely rare for me to end up at the same ground for two consecutive matches but this weekend was the first of a double header finishing in midweek, almost a case of how well the fixtures landed but not quite!

And also it’s not often I get chauffeured to a game unless it’s the disastrous Southern Rail network. Pete Stone, the ex-Worthing chairman was my driver for the afternoon, a long standing friend since his days at the Rebels and a great supporter of all the work I produce.

Our destination was not too far away, National League Aldershot Town as they hosted York City, whose manager of course is Adam Hinshelwood, the gaffer Pete brought back to Woodside Road for that fantastic spell.
