Cray Wanderers vs Folkestone Invicta at Hayes Lane

With Valentines Day falling on a Tuesday it meant Wednesday night football instead and a visit to Hayes Lane as Cray Wanderers took on Folkestone Invicta. It’s been a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for the Wands since the arrival of Neil Smith and Tim O’Shea, surviving relegation on the final day of last season to being in the thick of the play-off race this season.

Invicta arrived in Bromley still with outside play off chances themselves and three points would certainly propel them into the conversation with a lot of football still to play.

A cold evening greeted those inside in the stadium despite the higher daytime temperatures and it was the visitors who started the brighter side. Cray struggled for any momentum throughout the first half and the better chances were easily those of Folkestone.
