Season finale brings late drama
Glorious sunshine as the curtain falls on the 2023/24 season
As mentioned in the Friday Freebie here, Saturday marked the final game of my season. Normally Non League Finals Day is the final marker but with the youngest not wanting to head up to Wembley it looked like an earlier finish for me.
But having watched Steyning Town dispatch Midhurst & Easebourne on Tuesday evening in the Peter Bentley Cup semi-final, the final at Hassocks FC was the fitting end for 2023/24.
Their opponents were Crowborough Athletic, beaten play off semi-finalists a mere couple of weeks ago but a chance for a first and last look at them on the afternoon.
