Pre-season within the season

Despite having seen my first game of the season last weekend it was back to a pre-season game on Tuesday evening as Corinthian took on Cray Wanderers, the Isthmian League not kicking off until 13th August, one of the last leagues to do so.

Both sides took the opportunity to field a number of trialists and the visitors also opting to play some of their Under 18 players as well, under the tutelage of Sam Wright and Sam Wood for the evening.

Another warm summer evening in Kent as it was for my visit two weeks previous, both sides were seemingly intent on playing a majority of their football on the ground, a nice green surface when all around was scorched from the summer sun.
