Midweek this time around was more local for the first time this season. Having stayed in Sussex on the weekend but in the East, it was time to go west and a few miles up the road.
Around me within a very small radius are no less than six clubs from Step 4 to 6, so always plenty of choice and plenty of people known around those places as well. Arundel was the choice on Tuesday evening, it was a blank midweek for a while with not much choice around until a few cup draws were announced.
Their visitors were Steyning Town, a division higher and off to a flyer so far this year. An impressive season from the Barrowmen last time out and with play-off’s this year for the first time at Step 5, they will except to be involved. The Mullets meanwhile just came up short in their quest for Step 6 promotion, the games catching up by the end and missing out on the season extension.
