Barnet vs Wrexham, ready for kick off

Saturday 15th April. Grand National day, but also the day Welsh thoroughbreds were in town to face Barnet, or commonly know to many Hollywood FC. That’s been the name given to Wrexham since the arrival of their two high profile owners and are getting closer to the Football League after 14 years away.

Barnet these days are no pushovers, gone are the 12 months ago Bees who would roll over and have their tummies tickled by the top clubs, and they still need points to ensure a top seven spot and play-off finish to the season.

BT Sport in their beautiful wisdom decided less than two weeks beforehand to switch the game to a 12.45pm kick off in order to show Notts County vs Woking later in the afternoon/evening, a 9am leaving time was not really what I had in mind.
