The National League promises to be much more of an open race in 2023-24 with many clubs believing this is their time. Whilst we marvelled pretty much at the race Wrexham and Notts County gave us last year they were exceptional.
It’s unlikely we will see the same again which gives hope to plenty of clubs within non-league’s top division but who will be the front runners and who will emerge from the pack?
Chesterfield no doubt will be installed as most people’s favourites which is no surprise. They went close last year, very close and like Wrexham of last year will be keen to end their non-league stay but I don’t think they’ll have it all their own way.
