Huge win for Town despite Corinthian effort
Entertaining game despite the wet and windy conditions
Tuesday night’s game was one of those ‘hanging in the balance’ kind of days, the rain showing no sign of letting up across much of the country and especially down here in Sussex, although it relented on Monday before returning in the early morning.
I actually thought I was heading to Barnet but a week early in that respect so it meant a trip a couple of minutes up the road to Littlehampton as they took on Corinthian, both sides wanting the points for different reasons.
Town are enjoying a good campaign so far, their inaugural one in the Isthmian League and although reality is to ensure they are in the division again next year they will have one eye on the play off’s.
Corinthian are one of a very rare breed these days, they don’t pay the players a single penny, pretty much unheard of above Step 5 which these two sides are. Having enjoyed a very successful year last season they lost a host of players over the summer to clubs who do pay and this season they are finding the going much tougher, currently just Faversham are below them in the table.
