Some things are worth waiting for however long it takes. The time, the patience is all worthwhile in the end. In football you aren’t always afforded that time especially on the pitch.
Building a new stadium comes at a price and it’s certainly not a cheap one! It builds an identity and puts the club in the heart of their community and not just for the use of football.
Prior to Tuesday evening Cray Wanderers were involved in what’s believed to be the longest ground sharing agreement ever. What should have been a few years at Bromley’s Hayes Lane stadium turned into 26 long years for the Wanderers but as of the 2024/25 season the club have their own facility at Flamingo Park just off the A20.
I’ll go into more detail about this in a future blog in the next two weeks, but the evening was all about an historic homecoming and not only that but a first ever derby game to boot.
