It’s not often we’ve had more than a day or two of sunshine in a row since the turn of the year. And to get the big yellow thing in the sky to shine on a Saturday afternoon has been unheard of.

But for the second consecutive weekend, I was heading out to football with the warm glow on my back. Well I say that, but it was cold despite the blue sky not containing any clouds.

My last viewing of Chichester City was on the opening day of the season when they made their Step 3 debut beating Canvey Island at home 2-1. The last viewing of Cray Wanderers was exactly three days after that game as they opened their newly acquired Flamingo Park ground with the Cray derby but going down 2-0 to Steve McKimm’s Cray Valley PM.
