With everyone else from Step 1-4 kicking off at the weekend, there was full choice for games to go and watch. I had decided on one in the National League South but changed plans at the last minute after a let-down.
Instead, it was a Sussex fixture once again, I promise I am heading out of the county for the next two matches! A new league and new destinations for some clubs this season and one of those was my port of call on Saturday although not new for me.
Chichester City were certainly not amongst the favourites for promotion from the Isthmian South East Division, but a superb run of form coinciding with their return home just before Xmas saw them slowly eat up the yards and grab a play-off spot sweeping aside Sussex rivals Three Bridges 5-0 in the final.
