Chesterfield away was not on my radar. Moved to a Friday night over Bank Holiday weekend but lacking in holiday to give it a serious thought a small amount of orders at work meant out the door by mid-day and then the ridiculous notion to drive nearly five hours to follow the Bees.
It wasn’t just the fast start for Barnet FC this season so far that tempted me to follow last season’s trip, completely unexpected but with a points tally demanded by Dean Brennan so far in the bag, away to the Spireites was to be the biggest test so far. Not just from the quality within their squad but in front of a decent size crowd too and potentially one or two other tests to come.
